A healthcare company that partners with CHAN is provided an internal auditor, located onsite, and supported by experts in a variety of disciplines. CHAN auditors examine internal controls and recommend improvements in three primary areas:

• Effectiveness and efficiency of operations (operational and information technology audits);
• Reliability of financial reporting (financial audits); and
• Compliance with applicable laws and regulations (coding/compliance audits).

Our audits are carried out by certified professionals who use a respectful, “no surprises” approach. We support them with leading-edge technology, audit tools, an internal quality program, professional development (training and education), and specialist resources. A risk assessment precedes the development of your annual audit plan.

Because much of what we do is highly specialized, we have a group of audit specialists and subject matter experts who, when needed, provide technical support to other CHAN auditors working on audits in the expert’s area. Their expertise ranges from audit specialties such as corporate compliance and information technology, healthcare topics such as home health, construction and lab compliance. These experts also assist with the development and maintenance of our audit tools and resources.

CHAN also has a group of dedicated Computer Assisted Audit Techniques (CAAT) specialists. These auditors are trained to use audit software to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of our audit procedures, and provide remote computer-based support to all CHAN auditors.
